The Basilica Children’s Choir Workshop

Since its inception in October 2022, the Basilica Children’s Choir has welcomed over twenty choristers and performed nine times for weekend masses and special feast days including Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. Our Music Ministry is hosting a workshop for all the young musicians of the parish as we look forward to starting the second season of choir this coming September. The Passion

The Folk Choir serves the University community, including the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, as one of the principal liturgical choirs. Since its founding more than 40 years ago, it has toured across five continents and released eight studio albums… Produced by three-time Grammy winner Joe Henry and directed by Wright, [this] album was recorded in Jerusalem at the end of the choir’s weeklong pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

Michiana Church Musicians Workshop

St. Monica & St. Joseph Churches, Mishawaka, IN.

What is the music of the Church and how is it relevant today? Join us for this two-day workshop exploring the purpose of music in Catholic liturgy through lectures and interactive workshops. Each day will end with a Vespers Service or Mass where we apply the lessons of the day. Open to all parishioners, choristers, instrumentalists, cantors, and music enthusiasts who would like to learn more about music and liturgy.

“The Passion” is a newly composed musical ritualization of Christ’s Passion. Emerging from a collaborative process between students in the Folk Choir and professional artists, the piece combines Scripture drawn from all four Gospels with original poetry, all set to newly composed music.

NDCC Christmas Album!

Release: Christmas 2021

We are pleased to announce the release of our newest Christmas album, A Ceremony of Carols: Christmas with the Notre Dame Children's Choir! Recorded in June of 2021 in Reyes Choral and Organ Hall of Notre Dame's DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, the album includes Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols as well as classical carols such as Bring a Torch, Jeanette, Isabella, Sussex Carol, Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day, Silent Night, and more.
